- JR Cakes and the PTFA joining the Parish Council with a stalls.
Haunts Grove map
Hunts Grove looks incredible at Halloween thanks to lots of residents decorating their homes with webs, pumpkins, cauldrons and everything else spooky and scary. We'll be sharing a map (and list) of homes across the village that you won't want to miss.
To get your home on the map (and get free entry into the competition - see below), complete this form.
The map will be shared on this page and on our social media in the week before Halloween.
Best decorated home competition
This year we want to encourage and recognise these tremendous efforts by running a competition, with the winners chosen by residents on Halloween. There are prizes for the top three: vouchers for £50, £25 and £15.
Enter via this form. Terms and Conditions are here.
You will be able to vote for your favourites at the Parish Council stall or online (details will be shared closer to the day).
Haunts Grove Challenge
Homes along three spooktacular routes will each be displaying a letter. Collect the letters along each route to spell out Halloween-themed words. Can you uncover one or more of the words? If so, come to the Parish Council gazebo at the corner of Harrier Way and Siskin Way to collect a prize! Keep an eye on social media and this webpage for our Haunts Grove leaflet for the map and details.
Safe and respectful Trick or Treating
We encourage everyone to stay safe and be respectful of others.
For Trick-or-Treaters 👻
- Go with an adult or in a group – never alone.
- Only knock on doors where you see Halloween decorations or lights – not everyone wishes to take part. Never knock on doors displaying a “no Trick or Treaters” poster.
- Be polite – if someone doesn’t answer, move on.
- Keep to pavements and be careful of traffic.
- Don’t go inside anyone’s home.
- Take care with costumes – make sure you can see properly through masks and that outfits won’t trip you up.
For Parents & Carers 🧡
- Make sure younger children are accompanied.
- Set a time for children to be home.
- Remind children to respect neighbours and not play tricks that could upset or frighten.
For those who prefer a quiet, uninterrupted evening
There are two downloadable posters for you to print out and display so Trick or Treaters know not to knock/rin
Let us know if you can't print a copy yourself and we will do our best to get you a hard copy. Email Cllr Thorne or Cllr Turner-Wilkes.
