Advent Windows 2025
This year, we’re hoping to run our Hunts Grove’s first Advent Window Calendar! Each evening from 1 to 24 December, a new decorated window will be revealed and lit for everyone to enjoy in the run-up to Christmas.
We’re looking for households to take part by decorating and lighting a window facing the road, starting on your assigned date and keeping it lit until Christmas Eve. If you’d like to be part of this new tradition, please sign-up using this form.
Towards the end of November we’ll share a map of all the participating windows so families can follow the trail throughout December.
Participant Guidance Pack
This December, our village will be celebrating Advent with a special community window calendar. Each evening from 1st–24th December, a new decorated window will be revealed and lit up, creating a festive trail for all to enjoy.
How it works
• Each participating household is assigned a date (1–24 December).
• On your date, you decorate and light a window facing the road.
• Your window stays lit each evening until Christmas Eve.
• A map showing all participating windows and dates will be shared online and by email.
SIGN-UP VIA THIS FORM.
What to do
• Decorate a window that faces the road/pavement/path with a Christmas or winter theme such as stars, angels, the Nativity, carols, winter wildlife, snowflakes, festive patterns. You could use lights, pictures, cut-outs, scenes — be as creative as you like! For inspiration take a look at:

• Light your window from your assigned day onwards, ideally from around 5–9 pm.
• Stay safe – use battery lights or safe electrics (no trailing outdoor cables).
• Take a photo of your window and send it to kevin.thorne@huntsgrove-pc.gov.uk so we can share it on the parish social media.
• Keep it visible from the road/pavement.
• Add a number (your day of Advent) so trail-walkers can follow the calendar.
Community trail
• A map of all the windows will be posted on the parish website, Facebook page, and mailing list.
• Families can enjoy walking the route each evening.
Thank you for bringing Christmas cheer to our village!
