A38 Junction - Plans for junction under construction
This page shows the plans for the junction currently under construction, and described how it will be used once complete.
For information and progress updates on the construction works see our main A38 junction page.
What is being built
There will be a new traffic light-controlled junction on the A38 dual carriageway and we understand that traffic lights will be added to the Cross Keys (/McDonalds) roundabout (the preparatory works for which were done was the roundabout was last upgraded).
How the junction will work (once completed)
Entering Hunts Grove |
(once the junction is complete, not during the construction work) |
---|---|
From the south (M5 junction, A38 from Whitminster) | Traffic will leave the A38 dual carriageway via the slip road to Hardwicke/Quedgeley, then turn right across the existing bridge and down to the new junction, turning left onto Haresfield Lane and into Hunts Grove. |
From the north (A38) |
Traffic will turn left off the A38 at the new junction onto Haresfield Lane and into Hunts Grove. |
From Hardwicke and Quedgeley | Traffic will travel across the existing bridge and then be able to turn left onto Haresfield Lane and into Hunts Grove. |
Leaving Hunts Grove | (once the junction is complete, not during the construction work) |
---|---|
To the south (M5 junction, A38 from Whitminster) | Traffic will turn left at the first part of the new junction and join what is currently the road out of Hardwicke down to the Cross Keys roundabout i.e. the road with Costa on. This stretch will no longer be used by traffic from Hardwicke as that will join the A38 at our new junction instead. |
To the north (A38) |
Traffic will use the new junction to turn right on to the A38 uptowards Asda and the city centre. |
To Hardwicke and Quedgeley | Traffic will turn right at the first part of the new junction to travel across the existing bridge and into Hardwicke |
